The laboratory of the Central Scientific and Production Veterinary Radiological Laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution was sent a sample of canned cod liver for research on the presence of helminths. The studied sample of canned fish contained inanimate nematodes from the anisacide family.
Anizakida - the most common parasites on the planet. Both adult individuals and their larvae live inside birds, fish, marine mammals, reptiles, and reptiles. Larvae can live in invertebrates and fish. But in recent years, these helminths have expanded the list of their owners. In their number was a man. In this sample of canned food "Cod liver", the lifeless helminth larvae were identified. In a parasitological study, it is not so much the helminths themselves that are important, but the degree of damage to the product they cause, as well as the lack of presentation in fish and products from it.
