The Kirovets tractor of the K-9000 series is a model of the new sixth generation of machines manufactured at the famous St. Petersburg plant. Kirovets K-9000: description of the tractor and its modifications
Tractor "Kirovets" - a unique technique, and therefore its description should begin with the history of its creation. It can be said that the Russian tractor industry began with the Kirov Plant. It should be recalled that the first production equipment left its assembly line in 1924. But already in 1962, as part of the state order, the serial production of the legendary Kirovets was started. At that time, for the development of agriculture, the country needed to create powerful equipment. The release of "Kirovtsa" made a real breakthrough in the tractor industry and made it possible to increase the productivity in agriculture several times.
Did you know? From 1962 to this day, the plant produced more than 475,000 Kirovets tractors, of which approximately 12,000 were sent for export, and more than 50,000 were working on Russian fields.
Today, the release of "Kirovtsa" is established at CJSC "Petersburg Tractor Plant", which is a branch of the Kirov Plant. Now CJSC PTZ is the only Russian enterprise that has launched production of energy-efficient machines of such high class. Eleven different models of tractors are assembled on the plant’s conveyors, including the Kirovets tractor of the K-9000 series and more than twenty of its industrial modifications.Did you know? Before starting the description of the tractor, it should be noted that "Kirovets" is not the name of a particular model, but the name of a whole series of modifications of various tractors. And now let's look at the name of the tractor and find out what it means. In the name of the car, the capital letter "K" means "Kirovets", and the number 9, in accordance with the international classification, indicates that we have an energy-efficient heavy-duty all-wheel drive tractor equipped with a hinged-solar-type frame. In turn, numbers after 9 indicate engine power.
There are only five modifications of these tractors, differing from each other, first of all, by engine power. In addition, there are some differences in the dimensions of the last two modifications, but otherwise all the cars are almost identical, and therefore the K-9520 has almost the same characteristics as the K-9450, K-9430, K-9400, K-9360. 
In the manufacture of a new series of tractors "Kirovets" the manufacturer traditionally equipped them with an articulated frame, all-wheel drive, but their large wheels can be doubled.

Let's take a closer look at what units Kirovets consists of. The overall dimensions of the various K-9000 models are the same in length, while the widths of the K-9430, K-9450, K-9520 are 195 mm larger than those of the K-9400 and K-9360.
Engine
Those who are going to buy Kirovets K-9000 will be interested in the question: which engine is installed? Some models are equipped OM 457 LA diesel six-cylinder engine with a volume of 11.9 liters and manufactured by the German brand Mercedes-Benz. There are also models that have an eight-cylinder V-shaped OM 502LA with a volume of 15.9 liters and a capacity of 516 hp.
Each K-9000 engine is additionally equipped with a turbocharger. Before being supplied to the turbine, the air is forcibly cooled, due to which it is possible to force more air into the cylinders. Adjustment of fuel injection is carried out through electronic systems. Each cylinder has its own nozzle-pumps, adapted for the use of domestic fuel.
It should be noted that the engine preheating system is provided in the basic configuration and guarantees a quality start at minus temperatures. The weight of the full fuel tank is 1.03 tons. Each fuel tank is equipped with elements for additional cleaning and automatic heating of the fuel if its temperature drops below -10 degrees. Each model of the K-9000 tractor has a different engine power, which can range from 354 to 516 hp. The fuel consumption of the K-9000 is 150 (205) g / hp per hour (g / kW per hour).
Transmission
All versions of tractors equipped with power plants no more than 430 hp, are equipped Powershift automatic transmission, the design of which is based on the dual connection of two mechanical boxes.
In addition, the gearbox has a dual clutch with two independently working discs, which made it possible to use it as a normal gearbox without sacrificing torque. The gearbox works in four ranges, each of which has four speeds forward and two back, which in total gives sixteen forward and eight back.

Running gear
Both axles of the tractor are leading, due to which its unique throughput is achieved, which is also facilitated by the use of know-spin technology. Each axle gearbox is equipped with differential cross-axle self-locking mechanisms. Gear transmissions in the axle gearbox and onboard gearboxes are placed in such a way that they provide maximum agrotechnical clearance. Gearboxes and axle gears are manufactured on high-tech equipment with maximum precision. The main parts of the box are made of high strength steel. The brake system has a pneumatic drum-type drive.
Steering
"Kirovets" is famous for its high-quality hinged-solar frame. For the manufacture of turning mechanisms used hinges, which work effectively in the horizontal and vertical planes, which provides the most smooth movement of the vehicle, increasing its maneuverability and cross-country ability. In the horizontal plane, the angle of rotation of the frame is 16 degrees in each direction, while the turning radius of the outer wheels is 7.4 m.
To improve the characteristics of the hinge mechanism installed bearing. The movement of the hinge in the horizontal plane provides a replaceable pair of sleeves, sliding in a tubular element. Hydraulic system and attachments
Kirovets K-9000 has impeccable technical characteristics, which allows its use with most types of attachments.
The hydraulic system consists of a Sauer-Danfos pump, a Bosh-Rexroth hydraulic distributor, which has an additional filter element and a radiator for cooling the working fluid and a supply tank of 200 liters. The LS system regulates the flow rate of the working fluid and the rate of its supply.
The main advantage of the system is to reduce consumption and prevent the loss of hydraulic fluid. The system independently reduces pressure and reduces the flow, adjusting its parameters to the desired load. The main drawback of the system is its complexity, and therefore it requires more precise adjustment.

Tractor cab
The tractor cab is equipped with a robust frame that provides absolute safety for the operator. Special cushions on which the cab is installed protect the driver from vibration. In addition, it is completely sealed, which prevents the penetration of foreign odors and dust. Tire and Wheel Size
K-9000 has a wheel diameter with a profile width of 800 or 900 mm. The ratio of the height and width of the profile is equal to 55.6%, and the landing diameter of the tractor wheel is 32 inches. The K-9000 tractor is equipped with tires, the size of which is 900 / 55R32 or 800 / 60R32. Tires of this type have increased maneuverability and the possibility of doubling, which significantly increases the maneuverability of the tractor.
