Home care for Anthurium Scherzer

Temperature

Anthurium - a resident of the tropics, therefore, prefers heat. Optimal for spring and summer - 22-25 degrees. In the autumn - winter period the temperature should be below - 15-17 degrees. This will contribute to the budding.

Shine

The plant loves bright but diffused light. For a long time it can be in the penumbra, and direct sunlight is disastrous for it.

With a lack of light does not bloom. Under the hot sun the flower dries. You can not keep a pot with Anthurium in a draft - he can not stand it.

Air humidity

Anthurium is preferable to grow at high humiditywhich is unacceptable to humans. Next to the plant you can put an additional humidifier, for example, a decorative fountain. Wash the leaves several times a day in a dry place with a damp cloth. It is necessary to spray carefully, without getting on the cob.

Watering

A moisture-loving flower should be watered every 3 days with warm water with a low level of acidity. In winter time - in 3-4 weeks. Watering should be regular, but moderate. Stagnant water, as well as its disadvantage, can destroy Anthurium.

Priming

The soil for the flower should be slightly acidic, easily permeable to air and absorb moisture. However, it should dry out well. For her take the turf ground, peat and chopped moss, mixed and poured into a pot, which is 1/3 filled with drainage. Sometimes instead of moss put coarse sand or fine gravel.

Planting and transplanting

Buying Anthurium, you need to plant it in a few days. All manipulations are carried out with extreme caution, trying not to damage the fragile roots.

The pot should not be too small or too large.

The roots should be comfortable to grow, but free space in the pot delays flowering, because Intensive growth of green mass begins.

The first 4 years of life a flower must be replanted every year in spring or summer. Older plants are transplanted after 3-4 years to change depleted soil or into a larger container.

Fertilizers

For feeding you should buy organic and mineral fertilizers in the store. They should be alternated between themselves, bringing the solution into the soil in spring and summer every 2-3 weeks. In winter, the plant is not necessary to fertilize.

Breeding

You can multiply the Antorium by dividing grafting or seed.

For cutting with the onset of spring, the cutting is separated from the top of the plant with 2-3 leaves or side shoot, on which there are small roots. The stalk must be placed in water, which must be replaced regularly. Well rooted plant in vermiculite. Rooted shoots are planted in separate pots.

Share a flower in spring. To do this, remove the plant from the pot, free the roots from the ground and divide into several parts. Each part should consist of leaves with roots. They should be put in different capacities. The first time there is no need for abundant watering.

Seedsripened in the fruit, you can apply for planting new plants. To do this, they are first disinfected in a weak solution of potassium permanganate, and then placed in prepared light soil. Before the sprouts appear several months will pass. They should be seated, and when 5-7 leaves appear, they should be planted in a permanent place.

Diseases and pests

Anthurium is affected fungal diseases or pests.

Gray rot may develop due to increased humidity. On the parts of the plant appears a raid of gray. You should stop watering until the soil in the pot dries out, and then transplant the flower into new ground.

With excessively low humidity or with a constant presence of drafts, leaves curl and dry. In this case, the humidity must be increased, remove damaged parts.

A dangerous disease is Anthracnose. It is transferred from a diseased plant to a healthy one or falls on leaves with water for watering. The leaves begin to dry around the edges, then die off.

If the plant is not treated, it will die.

For processing use fungicides.

When pests appear, symptoms appear on the plant. The leaves are wrinkled and yellow spots are visible, which means that the aphid is breeding. Mealybugs leave gnawed holes in the leaves. Larvae and adults of scale insects secrete yellow sticky substances.

At the slightest suspicion of the appearance of insects, it is necessary to carefully examine the plant and remove visible larvae and their larvae from the surface of its parts.

Remove damaged leaves, shoots and inflorescences and process the flower with insecticides.

Anthurium Scherzer is very beautiful during flowering. To care plant unpretentious. If you follow the recommendations for growing it, it will thank the owner for its effectiveness.
