Composition and release form

Sanofly (Sanofly) - a drug repellent and insecticidal action, used for horses and cattle. The international name of the active substance is cyfluthrin, a synthetic insecticide from the group of pyrethroids. The composition of 1 ml of liquid:

  • 10 mg cyfluthrin;
  • 50 mg of dimethyl sulfoxide;
  • 20 mg polyvinylpyrrolidone;
  • 50 mg of isopropyl alcohol;
  • 10 mg of sorbitan oleate;
  • polyethylene glycol (base, the rest).
Sanoflay is available in the form of a clear, light yellow solution for topical use. The liquid is packaged in vials of polymer with dispensers of 50, 100, 250 and 500 ml, in large polymer cans of 1 and 5 liters with screw caps, as well as in pipettes with dosage of 1-5 ml.

Pharmacological properties

Sanoflay has a contact repellent (repellent) and insecticide-acaricidal (annihilating) effect on dipterous insects and arachnids. Effective against the following parasites: midges, zoophilous flies, gadflies and gadflies, lice and fleas, ticks from the Ixodidae.

The active substance acts on the nervous system of insects, blocking the transmission of nerve impulses, which as a result causes a loss of coordination, paralysis and death of the parasite. After contact with the skin, the drug is distributed over the epithelium, partially absorbed by the skin, providing a protective effect within 28 days after application.

Indications for use

The tool is used in the following cases:

  • protection of cattle during their stay on pasture, as well as during the active flight of insects;
  • prevention of diseases caused by bites and lesions of listed insects;
  • treatment of arachnoentomosis in cattle, horses.

Instructions for use

For prophylactic purposes, cows should be treated every 1-1.5 months, immediately after milking. For 10 kg of animal mass, the consumption of the drug is 0.3 ml. That is, for a cow weighing 500 kg you will need 15 ml of medicine. Sanoflay should be applied with a thin strip across the back from the beginning of the spine to the base of the tail. To do this, you need to push the wool and apply the medicine directly on the skin. If a large amount of the product gets on the skin, it can cause a burn.

Important! If it is necessary to treat a large population, it is recommended to test the drug on a small group of animals. If within 24 hours no complications are identified, the whole herd can be treated.

In general, preventive measures when working with this drug do not differ from those when working with other similar substances. It is allowed to work with the preparation only in specialized protective clothing (gown, closed rubber shoes, headgear) and rubber gloves. Drinking, smoking, eating food in the premises where the processing of livestock is prohibited. With increased sensitivity, direct contact with the drug is prohibited.

After treatment, hands should be washed with warm water and soap. If the drug accidentally gets on the skin or mucous membranes, they should be thoroughly rinsed under running water. Contraindications and side effects

Overdose manifests itself in depression and increased salivation (hypersalivation) of the animal, which pass through time without the use of therapy. Hypersalivation can also occur during the first treatment or after discontinuation of the drug. Therapy for this condition is not required. At observance of the specified dosage, technology and frequency of treatment, no undesirable and adverse reactions are usually observed.
