Rabbiwak V vaccine: instructions for use for rabbits

Breeding rabbits today is a profitable business, but it also has its own "pitfalls". These animals, like others, not only eat and breed, but also get sick. The most dangerous disease can be called the virus UHD (viral hemorrhagic disease of rabbits). It is known that it is easier to prevent the disease than to count the losses after the death of the livestock. Today the most effective prophylactic is Rabbiwak V for rabbits, which protects animals in 97% of cases. Let's take a closer look at this drug.

The composition of the drug

For the manufacture of tools used strain of hemorrhagic virus, passing a special treatment - inactivation, which does not allow the virus to multiply and at the same time retains antigenic qualities. One dose contains 0.7 log2 GAE. The second important component is 3% aluminum hydroxide. This substance helps strengthen the production of immunity.

Important! The vaccine is not a cure for the disease, it is used for prevention. Animals that are already infected, it will not help.

Preservative is represented by 0.8% formalin, which is a formaldehyde solution widely used for the manufacture of vaccines. The vaccine is produced in glass vials or ampoules with a capacity of 1-100 ml. The appearance of the drug is a light brown suspension with a loose sediment at the bottom of the vial.

Against what is used

The Rabbiwak V vaccine is used to prevent viral hemorrhagic disease and myxomatosis, which can lead to the death of a rabbit herd.

Instructions for use

7 days before vaccination, it is recommended to de-worming animals, for this take any drug and use it according to the instructions.

The vaccine is purchased with syringes (their number should correspond to the number of animals that will be vaccinated), as well as an alcohol solution. Vaccination will require 1 dose (1 ml) of the substance. Before use, the container is well shaken and 1 cubic meter is drawn into the syringe. Rabbivac V is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously to rabbits - the place does not affect the absorption of the drug.

The opened vial should be used for 1 hour, and the residues should be disposed of, after boiling the solution for half an hour. Vaccination is carried out only healthy animals. According to the instructions, the first vaccination is done when the animals have reached the age of 40 days. The second injection is carried out after 3 months, and all subsequent - every six months. All vaccinations should be carried out just in time, so as not to reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

Important! Means "Rabbiwak V" is strictly prohibited to use with other similar vaccines or serums.

How to process the cell after application

To prevent healthy individuals from becoming infected with the virus, their places of residence are treated with products based on chlorine, acids and hydrogen peroxide. In the case of minimal costs, you can apply even the usual "Whiteness". Any of the listed drugs are carefully treated cells after they have been cleared of residues of manure, feed and animal hair.

Precautionary measures

As with the use of any medication, it is important to observe certain precautions when using the Rabbiwak V vaccine.

Side effects

Subject to the rules specified in the instructions for use, no side effects should occur. There are isolated cases of the appearance of an allergic reaction, which passes immediately after stopping the drug.

Contraindications

In the instructions for the drug "Rabbiwak V" there are such limitations in use:

  1. Vaccination is not carried out sick or weak animals.
  2. It is forbidden to combine this drug with others.
  3. It is impossible to carry out vaccination by other means, if 14 days have not passed from the moment of an injection.

What to do, if…

Since rabbits are quite nimble animals and can start to break out at the moment of vaccination, it is important to know what to do in case of various unforeseen situations.

The vaccine hit the human skin

If the product comes into contact with the skin, if there are no wounds or cuts on it, rinse it thoroughly with running water.

Accidentally introduced the vaccine itself

If the vaccine is inadvertently administered to a person, it is necessary to immediately treat the injection site with ethyl alcohol and immediately go to the hospital. It is important to have an instruction manual for this medicinal product.

The vaccine fell to the ground

If the drug is dropped on the ground, this place is immediately poured with a solution of caustic soda or chloramine. These drugs immediately neutralize the virus and prevent it from penetrating deeply.

Existing analogues

Like most other drugs, "Rabbiwak V" has analogues that have the same properties, but at the same time have a slightly different composition and slightly lower cost.

Did you know? Rabbit teeth grow throughout life. So that they do not grow larger than the permissible size and could not damage the mucous membrane of the mouth, which will result in the onset of the inflammatory process, the animals must constantly be given a bite to bite off branches or special wooden toys.

"Pestorin Mormix"

The vaccine contains a suspension of organs of inactivated HBV, aluminum hydroxide, metriolate, saponin, and saline. Vaccination is carried out in the same way as using Rabbiwak V.

"Lapimun Hemix"

It consists of only 2 components: a suspension of an inactivated pathogen of hemorrhagic disease and a lyophilized vaccine virus of myxomatosis of rabbits.

Rabbit owners should know what to do if the animal sneezes, how to help it with sunstroke and what diseases of the ears can strike the rabbit.

If you decide to have rabbits, you need to know how to keep them healthy. For this, it is important to carry out vaccination with special preparations. Only in this case will your pets develop properly and give birth to offspring.

Reviews

Good evening everyone! I don’t know if it’s right, but the veterinarian advised me the following: you take a bottle of VGBK vaccine (RABBIVAK-V), it is liquid (there are just 10 doses) and you mix it with a dry vaccine for myxomatosis (RABBIWAK-V) and this mixture is punctured to rabbits intramuscularly at 1 ml from a month and a half. I’m just vaccinating and so far, there’s no problem. You just have to keep in mind that when the ambient temperature is above + 25gr, the vaccines don’t work and vaccination will be useless.
